This is the second book in the series, and it’s as much fun to read as the first book. The series, Veracruz Spanish Memories Bilingual Reader Series, has grown out of my thirteen-year experience as owner and director of a Spanish immersion school far south in Mexico. If I were looking at learning Spanish only academically, I’d have to say that there are many excellent bilingual readers. But I look at learning Spanish as a human process (with a strong academic component), and I say that yes, they are good, but they aren’t human enough, happy or touching or interesting or heartwarming enough. This series takes blogs from our language school’s website, blogs written about little things that were fun, or sweet, or sometimes bittersweet that show the warmth and kindness and culture of the people of Veracruz.
